Preface
Ever since bloggers have been exposed to cloud servers, they have been hearing or seeing information about Black Friday. As time goes by and you see more and more Black Friday hype, your curiosity will be piqued. So what is Black Friday? What time exactly?
What is Black Friday
This day is the first day of business after Thanksgiving (the fourth Thursday in November), followed by the traditional and grand Christmas in the United States. People usually start Christmas shopping at this time, and many stores will be crowded with customers and make a lot of money. Traditionally, different colors of ink were used for bookkeeping, with red indicating a loss or deficit and black indicating profits. Therefore, this Friday is called Black Friday to express the expectation of profits on this day.
Since store discounts usually start at midnight after Thanksgiving (i.e. midnight on Friday) and begin the day after Thanksgiving, people looking to buy bargains have to rush to the mall when it gets dark and line up to buy the bargains. This can also be regarded as the origin of "Black Friday". This behavior has a very vivid term, called early bird.
Another theory is that Black Friday originated in Philadelphia, USA. It was originally used to describe the severe congestion and chaotic traffic conditions the day after the Thanksgiving Carnival. The term "Black Friday" for this traffic jam began before 1961, and it was not until around 1975 that it spread from Philadelphia to the entire United States. It was only later that it was changed to its current meaning, which is commercial profit.
What time exactly?
Every year on the Friday of the fourth week of November (the day after Thanksgiving), this year it is November 28th.
Summarize
Over time, Black Friday has become the largest and most grand shopping carnival in the United States. Basically all merchants will launch promotional activities on this day. In the past, most of them were promotions launched by offline physical stores to increase profits. However, with the development of time, this day has developed into online and offline activities, including all walks of life in the United States. Many businesses will start preparing for Black Friday events a week in advance.
